Mindray BeneVision N22/N19 Patient Monitor Wins the iF DESIGN AWARD 2016
Mindray's BeneVision N22/N19 Patient Monitor has been announced winner of the internationally renowned iF DESIGN AWARD 2016 in the category of product design, chosen for the coveted seal of excellence out of nearly 5,300 entries from over 2,400 participants in 53 countries. After careful assessment of all entries, the 58-member jury of high-profile international experts finalized their decision as they convened in Hamburg, Germany, from 19th to 21st January 2016.
The BeneVision N22/N19 is the world’s first rotatable bedside patient monitor. The extra-large touchscreen rotates between landscape and portrait, providing clinicians with the options of showing more parameters with the vertical orientation and showing longer waveforms in horizontal mode. By combining both clinical views on one device as patient care demands, Mindray R&D has achieved the goal of the "and" instead of "or" user experience. In addition to the rotatable screen, the BeneVision N22/N19 also features parameter modularity that allows maximum flexibility in patient care. The iView module combines an embedded PC and patient monitor in the same unit, optimizing cooling without the need for a fan. The ultra-compact main unit and big screen can be used as a combined unit or as separate units to make use of the rotating screen feature. The ultra-slim profile, seamless screen and single-level menu user interface are also an integral part of the BeneVison N22/N19 user-centric design.
"The rotatable screen offers the best value in clinical functionality, but also brings unprecedented challenges in uniting form and function with industrial design and system integration. Thankfully we came up with the simplest, most elegant, iconic and premium-level design solution," commented Zhou Xiang, Chief Director of Mindray's Industrial Design Center. The Mindray R&D team continues to strive for an optimal user experience and improved workflow to assist clinicians in focusing on the patient and providing the optimal level of patient care.
For over 60 years, the iF logo has been an internationally established symbol identifying outstanding achievements in design. The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the worldwide leading design awards and welcomes over 5,000 submissions from 70 countries every year.
